Maxim Dim Sum Restaurant in Taman Pekaka was my favourite place for dim sum especially their egg tart and Hong Kong style Chee Cheong Fun.
Hong Kong style Chee Cheong Fun is the best in Penang. The prawn within the Chee Cheong Fun was so fresh and juicy. Pepper shrimp paste goes perfectly well with it. Not like some other places, their pepper shrimp wasn’t that delicious. Texture of the chee cheong fun was so smooth and the soya sauce did not overcome the freshness of the prawn. Some other place the single plate of Hong Kong style Chee Cheong Fun only contain about 2 to 3 prawn but here you get more prawn. Some other places the prawn wasn’t as fresh and juicy as their prawn they use here.
Fried wanton was also one of my favourite here. Crunchy outside but inside the meat still preserve some juiciness. And again it match well with the mayonnaise and chili sauce.
Mini bao with the kaya paste inside was very nice too and my wife love them a lot. Personally I prefer barbequed pork bao.
Steamed shrimp dumplings is very nice too. Shrimp inside of it was so fresh, juicy and big.
I forgot the name of this dish but it was very delicious too.
If you wish to come here on weekends or public holidays, you might find it difficult to find empty table. You might need to queue.
Plenty of parking available at the roadside (parking ticket required) or you can park at the basement (RM1 per entry).
